Halfway There

It's the halfway point in training and so far so good. Looking forward to the weather getting out of the teens, hopefully only a few more weeks of the really cold weather. Looking to start planning my fundraising event at a local bar, should have details soon. Need to keep my donations increasing along with my miles.

15 Miles By Mistake

This Friday I planned on running 13 miles by running the Charles River from my house to Mt. Auburn to the BU Bridge and back. I didn't see an entrance to take the BU bride so I kept going to Mass Ave. Wound up running 14.9. I'll Have to do a better job scouting my long runs in the future. After the run I drove up to Stowe, VT for a ski trip. Got in a good cross training session on the mountain. Wish I could do that more often.

Approaching the Haflway Point...

Got up to 12 miles on Saturday. This was the first Sunday I didn't feel like I got the crap kicked out of me the day before. Just hope it stays this way as I approach 20.

But This One Goes To Eleven...

Like Nigel Tufnel's amp in Spinal Tap, I went to eleven today. Nice sunny day along the Charles, not bad. I got The Stick today, great for post run massages. Wish I got this earlier.

Happy New Year!

Had a pretty good New Years. On 1/1/10 I ran the inaugural 1st Run 10K in Lowell, MA. Had great weather for January. First time I ran a 10K with a pace under 8 min/mile. On Saturday, ran 10 miles with my marathon training team in Grafton. Weather conditions weren't great (middle of a a decent snow storm) but it was a fun run with lots of hills to provide a great work out. Need to more runs like to prepare for Boston in April. Today, I'm definitely feeling it.
