HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. In between trips to my in-laws on Friday and my parents on Sat/Sun I was able to get in a few runs to burn some of the calories I took in from two great Christmas dinners. Today I got a pretty good Christmas gift...58 degree weather for my 9 mile run. Not bad for late December. Looking forward to the Lowell 1st Run (10K) on New Years Day then our 10 mile coalition run the following day. Hope the nice weather sticks around for another week.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Didn't get my runs in during the week, but did the long run on Saturday. I couldn't make the team run at 8:00 in the morning, which turned out to be a blessing. The temp rose from 12 to 29 by mid day when I made way to the Charles. Did my first run on a treadmill today due to a foot of snow covering the sidewalks. Hope they clear up soon because running on a treadmill is torture. Don't think I could last more than 4 miles, but it's a long winter so chances are I'll find out.

Somerville Jingle Bell Run - 5K

Ran the Somerville Jingle Bell Run 5K today. Arrived at 11:02 for an 11:00 race start. Thanks to the Jalberts for having my number ready at the starting line. I was rushing to park and forgot what street I was on. So I got another 2 miles or so in after the race trying to find my car. Not the brightest bulb....

Let's get it started...

Today officially starts my cold weather marathon training. 7 miles with a wind chill of around 9. I know, I can run a lot faster without all the tissues so I'll stop crying now. Should be fun.
